Securing The Destiny Of Our Children - By Training Them Rightly

Anchor Scriptures:
  • Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

  • Isaiah 54:13 - And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Training Your Children Rightly

1.     Train Them The Way They SHOULD Go Not The Way They WOULD go.
Children are born with a bias towards evil. – Don’t let them be driven by their desires only.

It is natural for us to do wrong.
Proverbs 22:15 -
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Proverbs 29:15 -
The rod and reproof (Sharp Word) give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

- Our hearts are like the earth. Leave it alone and the WEEDS will flourish.
- Uncouth,
uncultured,
uncivilized,
barbaric,
uncultivated,
unruly,
indiscipline etc.

- This is the trait of people who lack HOME TRAINING

2.     Train Them With Love and Patience.
It is easier to DRAW a child than to DRIVE a child.

Woo (Draw) them with kindness and patience –

Children are like YOUNG PLANTS, the need GENTLE WATERINGOften but Little at a time.  - NOT PESA PAP

Their understanding is like a NARROW –NECKED BOTTLES -
- Don’t expect all the content to go in at once.

3.     Don’t Train Your Children With Anger.
Colossians 3:21
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. (KJV)
21 Fathers, do not be hard on your children, so that their spirit may not be broken. (BBE)

Example Of Saul Speaking To His Son Jonathan
I Samuel 20:30
30 Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?  (KJV)

30 Then Saul was moved to wrath against Jonathan, and he said to him, You son of an evil and uncontrolled woman, have I not seen how you have given your love to the son of Jesse, to your shame and the shame of your mother? (BBE)
